Arlo

ARLO is a sound studio with over 15 years of combined experience in mixing, sound design, dialogue editing, ADR and post-production for film, series, television and advertising. When the new owners took over the studio — a long-standing space located at Charlone 79, in the heart of Chacarita — they faced a pivotal transition: preserving the spirit of the place while opening it to new markets and audiences. TRICOTA was invited to lead the brand identity, photography direction and web design (UX/UI), with the goal of modernising the brand without erasing its history, reinforcing the idea of a “recording house”, and positioning the studio for its next chapter. Our process began with an in-depth phase of research and observation of the physical space — understanding its rhythm, rooms and architecture, and how the house itself shaped the recording experience. Those insights became the foundation of the brand concept. We then moved into art direction and photography, documenting the studios, equipment, textures, light and details that convey both the warmth of a home and the technical precision of a professional studio. Particular care was given to composition, visual narrative and aesthetic consistency across web and social platforms. Finally, we designed the digital experience: a modern, clear and accessible website that communicates professionalism while preserving the human character of the space. The result is a system that respects what was inherited and amplifies it.
A simple, memorable brand deeply connected to its physical space.
A contemporary and warm visual identity.
Professional photography that tells a genuine story.
And a modern, clear and aspirational website. Branding does not always mean breaking in order to create.
Sometimes it is about listening, understanding, and refining what already exists.
The key was working with sensitivity — protecting the legacy while building a visual narrative that honours it.
If we were to approach the project again, we would likely document the human side of the process even further, as it proved to be just as important as the technical work.
